20th - 26th Aug 2007 : Trip to Taipei, Taiwan

I attended a conference, "3rd Regional Dengue Research Network Meeting" held in Taipei from the 22nd to 24th Aug 2007. Clint tagged along and we did quite a bit of sightseeing outside of my conference time. The main highlights of our trip are Shilin Night Market, Taipei 101 observatory deck, Yangmingshan National Park and Martyr's Shrine.

We stayed in Grand Hotel, which is very majestic in decor.

2007 Summer vacation in USA

Clint and I were in USA from 25th Jul - 7th Aug. The main reason why we went on this trip is to attend his sister, Roz's, wedding which was held on 28th Jul (Sat) in Deer Isle, Maine. The place is remote, but has a very scenic and serene environment, perfect for weddings. I had the honor of being one of Roz's bridesmaids.

Here's Randy and Betsy with their 5-month old baby girl, Zoe, whom we finally get to meet.

After spending five days in Deer Isle, we headed back to MA where we spent two days in Boston. During this time, we stayed at Clint's parents' house in Holliston, the place where Clint grew up.

We met up with Dave Swett in Boston for lunch near his workplace

We arrived at San Francisco on the night of 3rd Aug and stayed through 7th Aug, before flying back to Singapore. During this time in California, we had two parties with old friends, and I visited my ex-coworkers.

Here's a few of our other friends, including Lisa's baby girl, Sarah.

I visited Pier 39 because I missed it so much.

And I had yummy crab cakes there.

And of course, Jamba juice!
